The Jefferson County Tax/Tag office will be closed on the following days:
Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th, 2008 for Thanksgiving
Thursday, December 25th and Friday, December 26th, 2008 for Christmas
Thursday, January 1st, 2009 for New Year's Day
Monday, January 19th, 2009 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday
Beginning January 1, 2006, Georgia Sales Tax must be paid on all vehicles purchased
outside the State of Georgia prior to registration of the vehicle.
On January 1, 2006, the Tax Commissioner began issuing handicap mirror
hangers. The applications for these hangers are available in our office.
